John 18:8-9 (NLT)

Jesus answered, “I told you that I am he. If you are looking for me, then let these men go.” 9 This happened so that the words he had spoken would be fulfilled: “I have not lost one of those you gave me.

WORD:

Jesus portrays to be a defender of his disciples. This was just a spectacle of what his real mission was going to be. To be exalted to the right hand of the father where he was going to make intercession on our behalf. With the possibility that his disciples will be targeted, he stood up and gave himself up to be identified and arrested. This was to fulfill an eternal prophecy: If we truly belong to Jesus, we will never be lost in the shadows nor will we become prey for the raging enemy seeking to devour us. The lord will keep us from harm and defend us before the Father, with the eternal leverage he has built, for the ages to come. His blood speaks and God listens. He paid the price and bought for himself the power to be our champion. Your defender reigns.

PRAYER:

Thank you Lord for delivering and standing up for me. You have loved me with an everlasting love and drawn me with your loving kindness. Thank you Lord.
