Revelations 21:4 (NIV)
‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
WORD:
There are so many reasons we cry: Excess joy, pain and suffering, or attention seeking in the case of “babies”. The shedding of tears could be futuristic or a result of current prevailing circumstances. The old order of things here refers to our sinful nature, self made doctrines and commandments which were a result of wickedness, disobedience and a hardened heart. But John is stating clearly that, when Christ comes and takes His rightful place as King of our hearts, the effects of sin which is death, will have no hold over our lives. If there is no death, there will be no mourning. Your tears will be wiped away this week and anything that plagues you, will have no impact on you any longer. Walk in the fullness of God’s Glory and may His spotlight be upon you this week. Shalom to you.
PRAYER:
Wipe away my tears, O Lord, and restore my sinful nature to your will. Let death have no effect on my life. May joy and gladness be my portion.
